Free Website Terms
Effective date: 12 October 2026
By requesting a free website from OrdoLux Limited (“OrdoLux”, “we”, “us”), the firm (“you”) agrees to these terms. They apply to the free website offer only and not to any OrdoLux subscription.
1. What we provide
We will build and publish a website for your firm at no charge, using a template from our design library and content assembled from materials you provide. The build covers the pages and features a typical firm website needs. If what you ask for would take us substantially beyond that (for example custom applications, unusual integrations or a large content project), we will tell you before starting and quote for the extra work separately. One round of revisions to the initial build is included.
2. Your content and your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of everything on the site: your firm’s details, its SRA number and regulated status, its complaints information, price and service transparency where required, and any claims you make. We do not verify your content against regulatory requirements. You confirm you hold the rights to all materials you give us (logos, photographs, text) and you will keep us indemnified against claims arising from materials you supply.
3. Domain and hosting
We register a domain in your firm’s name and set up the site in a free hosting account controlled by your firm. We cover the initial domain registration and the hosting costs during the build. After handover, domain renewals and hosting are your responsibility. We will hand over all logins and access details when the site goes live.
4. After handover
Once the site is live and the logins are handed over, the website is yours to run. We provide no hosting, support, maintenance, uptime or security service for it, and we give no promise about its performance, search ranking or the enquiries it attracts. If you later ask us for changes, we may accept the work at our then-current rates, quoted and agreed before we start. We are not obliged to accept it.
5. Ownership and credit
On completion the site content, domain and hosting account are yours. A discreet “Website by OrdoLux” credit will appear in the footer; if you would like it removed we will do so on request.
6. No charge and no obligation
The website is provided free. You are under no obligation to subscribe to OrdoLux, and receiving the website creates no entitlement to any other OrdoLux product.
7. Liability
The website is provided as is, without warranty. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including loss of profit, business or goodwill), and our total liability in connection with the website is limited to the fees you paid us for it.
8. Ending the offer
If you decide not to proceed before the site is live, either party may stop at any time and neither owes the other anything. Work done up to that point is not transferred.
9. These terms
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. OrdoLux Limited, Company No. 16691273, registered in England & Wales.
