OrdoLux connects to Microsoft Graph and captures every Teams PSTN call as a pending time entry — ready to confirm in one tap. No manual logging. No missed units.
OrdoLux uses Microsoft Graph to subscribe to call record events for your firm's Microsoft 365 tenant. No audio is stored. Only metadata — who, when, how long.
A PSTN call (to or from a real phone number) is made through the Microsoft Teams app on mobile or desktop.
Within 2–5 minutes of the call ending, Microsoft Graph delivers a webhook notification to OrdoLux with call metadata.
A pending time entry appears on the fee earner's daily timesheet — pre-filled with the call duration, direction, and contact details if matched.
The fee earner reviews the entry, assigns it to a matter, edits the description if needed, and confirms. Done. Alternatively, dismiss it — it's gone.
Microsoft's Operator Connect Mobile programme lets participating mobile networks surface your existing SIM-based calls inside Microsoft Graph — the same way Teams PSTN calls work. That means OrdoLux can capture calls made from your normal mobile number, using your regular phone dialler, without the Teams app involved at all.
Supported networks (UK)
Operator Connect Mobile is a Microsoft programme. Network availability varies by region and plan. Check with your network provider for eligibility.
For most solicitors, telephone calls are the single largest source of unbilled time. OrdoLux fixes that without adding friction.
Every call above your minimum threshold is captured automatically. Nothing falls through the cracks at end of day.
Fee earners don't interrupt the call to log it — they confirm or dismiss from the timesheet at the end of the day.
OrdoLux captures call metadata only — duration, direction, participant. Audio is never recorded or stored.
Fee earners make calls from their phone using Teams. No separate hardware. No VoIP desk setup needed.
OrdoLux matches the caller to their fee earner record via Microsoft Entra ID. New joiners are linked automatically on invite.
Set a minimum call duration, choose confirm-or-auto mode, and configure calling tier — all in the Teams settings tab.
This feature requires a Microsoft 365 tenancy with Teams Phone capability. If your firm already uses Teams for calls, you're most of the way there.
Each fee earner needs M365 Business Voice, Teams Phone Standard + Calling Plan, or equivalent. Standard M365 plans don't include Teams Phone.
A Global Administrator must grant this application permission in Azure. It gives OrdoLux read-only access to call metadata — not audio.
The OrdoLux Microsoft 365 integration must be configured with your Azure app credentials. SharePoint/email integration uses the same credentials.
Each fee earner must have a PSTN phone number assigned in the Teams Admin Centre for calls to be made to and from real phone numbers.
If your firm uses Operator Connect Mobile, fee earners can make calls from their normal mobile number without the Teams app — and OrdoLux captures them in exactly the same way.
Being clear about limitations is part of how we build trust. Here's what to expect.
Teams-to-Teams calls between colleagues and Teams video meetings are not captured. Only PSTN calls (to/from real phone numbers) generate call records in Microsoft Graph.
Standard SIM calls from a personal mobile number are not captured unless your firm uses Operator Connect Mobile (Vodafone Business, BT/EE Business, or O2 Business where available). This requires your network to be enrolled in the Microsoft Operator Connect Mobile programme — it cannot be self-configured.
Microsoft Graph delivers call notifications with a short delay after the call ends. Entries do not appear in real-time during the call itself.
OrdoLux creates the ghost entry and identifies the fee earner. The fee earner still needs to assign the entry to the correct matter when confirming — this cannot be automated without caller ID matching to matter parties.
Does OrdoLux record the content of Teams calls?
No. OrdoLux captures call metadata only — who called, when, and for how long. Audio content is never recorded or stored by OrdoLux. This keeps the integration fully compliant with SRA obligations and data protection requirements.
How long after a call does the ghost entry appear?
Microsoft Graph typically delivers call notifications within 2–5 minutes of the call ending. The entry then appears immediately on the fee earner's daily timesheet.
What happens if a fee earner dismisses an entry?
The entry is removed from the timesheet and no time is recorded. Dismissed entries are stored in the call records log for audit purposes but do not appear in billing runs.
Can I set a minimum call duration?
Yes. Admins can configure a minimum call duration in seconds under Teams settings. Calls shorter than the threshold are silently ignored and no ghost entry is created. This prevents accidental dials and very short calls from cluttering the timesheet.
What Microsoft 365 licence do fee earners need?
Fee earners need a licence that includes Teams Phone — such as Microsoft 365 Business Voice, Teams Phone Standard with a Calling Plan, or an Operator Connect arrangement. Standard M365 Business Basic, Standard, and Premium licences do not include Teams Phone and will not generate PSTN call records.
What happens when a new fee earner joins the firm?
When you invite a new fee earner in OrdoLux, the system automatically queries Microsoft Entra to link their OrdoLux record to their Microsoft identity. Their calls will be captured from their very first day. A manual sync button is also available in the Teams settings tab.
Is this available to all OrdoLux customers?
Teams call recording is available to all OrdoLux customers who have the Microsoft 365 integration active and hold an appropriate Teams Phone licence. There is no additional charge for this feature.
Do fee earners need to use the Teams app to make calls?
Not necessarily. If your firm is on Vodafone Business or BT/EE Business, Microsoft Operator Connect Mobile means calls made from your normal mobile number — using the standard phone dialler — are surfaced in Microsoft Graph exactly like Teams PSTN calls. OrdoLux captures them in the same way, with no change to how fee earners make calls day to day. O2 Business support is rolling out. Check with your provider for eligibility.
What is Operator Connect Mobile?
Operator Connect Mobile is a Microsoft programme that integrates participating mobile networks (Vodafone, BT/EE, O2) with Microsoft 365. When enrolled, calls made and received on your normal SIM-based mobile number are surfaced in Microsoft Graph as call records — just like Teams PSTN calls. This means OrdoLux can capture them for automatic time recording without requiring the Teams app at all.
